I’m reading The Unforeseen by Dorothy Macardle which was first published in 1945. In it one of the characters mentions a “cup of sedebrand” - I Googled it and nothing relevant popped up. Anyone know what it is?

Ooh, that could be the most parsimonious explanation. I’m reading a recent republishing of the book but there doesn’t seem to be any sort of revision of the text and “sedebrand” is in a pdf of the first edition that I found. Certainly fits well in the context to be offering someone a brandy. Is it a typo?
What is Edelbrand ? | aftdistillery
Many of you know “Schnaps” as a clear drinking alcohol, made of whatever the heck you can get your hands on, sometimes straight like moonshine or “sugared up” awww.aftdistillery.com
