we should be dead

Poptastic, Hooktastic, Girl/Boy-tastic! Fun-loving, Floor-Filling, Indie-Rock Bubblegum Pop!
Award nominations, heavy radio rotation, glowing press reviews, numerous TV appearances, and a ‘must see’ live status are just some of the accolades this Irish boy/girl four-piece have achieved since exploding onto the music scene in 2007
The bands debut single 'Forget Romance Let's Dance!' made a huge impact on its release in November 2007, landing at number 3 in the Irish download charts, with the promo video being one of the most requested on popular Irish music channels.
The single was A-Listed on all the major Irish radio stations, and gained huge exposure on BBC Radio 1 in the UK.
The bands debut album was released on February 1st 2008 in Ireland to critical acclaim.

Upon the release of the second single ‘I Fell In Love With You,’ the band were invited to play at Liverpool’s infamous Cavern Club, where many hailed them as the highlight of the week.
The band also graced the red carpet at Ireland’s annual Meteor Music Awards, where they were nominated as “Best Newcomers”.
The third single from ‘We Should Be Deads’ highly acclaimed debut album ‘Zero Point Five’ is a surefire summer pop hit, and has already sky-rocketed the bands popularity. ‘Zero Point Five’ is a blissful, energetic and sassy tale of the ‘ Girl meets boy, boy is a silly bastard’ scenario, that details the not so idealistic one night stand experience, which is all too familiar in modern culture.

We Should Be Dead garnered a highly credible international fanbase when their debut album became a blogosphere phenomenon upon its release. This has led to a massive i-tunes sales increase in Portugal, Spain, Brazil, Scandanavia and Australia. The band were also surprised to find themselves as ‘featured artists’ on the front page of Myspace Brazil.
In August this year, We Should Be Dead headed out on their first US West coast tour where they were blown away by the response to their live shows. Many who hadn’t previously heard of the band and many who’s tastes lay elsewhere, were enthralled by the bands energetic and thrilling live performances.

As part of the bands US success they are being being championed by one of the biggest DJs in Hollywood, none other than KROQ's Rodney Bingenheimer. The life of Rodney Bingenheimer was potrayed in the movie 'The Mayor Of Sunset Strip'. Bingenheimer was responsible for breaking acts stateside like the B52’s, Blondie, The White Stripes, Coldplay, Oasis, No doubt and David Bowie to name but a few. The band were thrilled to be invited for lunch by Bingenheimer on a recent trip to LA where they really hit it off and have promised to keep in touch.

The band are currently at home putting the finishing touches on their new material, before returning to Los Angeles to begin work on their highly anticipated second album, with legendary Producer and Sorrows front-man Arthur Alexander. The band will be based in The US for all of 2009 with touring and promotional work so catch them in Ireland while you still can!
The excitement is building! Watch this space…

Press Quotes
HOT PRESS
"These are highly accesible, superbly structured songs played by a band which has clearly been studying how to deploy catchy winding melodies" 8/10
NEWS OF THE WORLD
"This is not an album for chin-strokers. It's honest and un-pretentious, 13 high-energy, highly infectious songs, mostly tales of love, betrayal and drunken dates"
ENTERTAINMET.IE
"When all is said and done, though, We Should Be Dead aren't lying; if nothing else, you'll want to dance your ass off to practically every song on this fizzy, frothy gem of an album" 4/5
REDTRACKMUSIC.COM
"This two boy, two girl combo are a tight, cohesive unit who write excellent pop/ rock songs brimming with attitude, hooks and most importantly these tunes extremely danceable! "
THE HYPE MACHINE
"Chugging chords, elastic beats and a sweet vocal turns what could have been an admirable pastiche into something that could yet shatter a lot of hearts (and not necessarily just the ones made of glass)."
IAN DEMPSEY, TODAY FM
"Great new sound for 2008"

And just for good measure…
Sunday Tribune
They are not yet the indie disco pin-ups they clearly aspire to be. Which is not to say that they won't make it – just that there’s a lot of work to be done along the way.

Also on the lineup will be Cork's very own Ladydoll

Ladydoll

Ladydoll are an alternative rock quartet from Cork and have been together for 2 years. Having proved themselves in a number of live shows, they were nominated to take part in both the IMRO Showcase Tour, the National Student Music Awards and the 2FM 2Moro Tour in March 2007. They were also contacted by radio stations and labels in the UK and went on to play a handful of successful showcase dates in London during the summer 2007.

Early 2008 saw Ladydoll record their debut E.P Wax Lyrical which was well received by radio and national press. The E.P also earned them a place in the National Student Music Awards finals, as well as support slots to some of Irelands best known rock bands including Fighting With Wire, Giveamanakick and Kopek.

Ladydoll’s second recording, Honeybunny/Genetics a double single is due out late 2008. This second offering was recorded by ex-Cyclefly guitarist Ciaran O’ Shea and mixed by French producer Dimitri Tikovoi who most recently recorded and produced Placebo’s album “Meds“.

Lamp

Lamp is a two piece progadelic band based in Cork. This two headed, four armed procrastinating monster is made up of two young men with sickeningly Irish surnames; Ted Murphy and Shane O' Leary. These two boyoz have known each other for nearly 10 years and have been playing in bands together since the age of about 15.

They started Lamp around January 2007 as a side project to Jezery www.myspace.com/jezery. On the 6th of September 2008 they released a split EP with local two piece grind core heart throbs "I'll Eat Your Face" www.myspace.com/illeatyourfaceireland which you can buy at Pluged in Cork and at there gigs.

Currently Lamp are trying to play as many gigs as possible around Ireland and England, and have planes to soon record there first solo EP entitled "Machetes in a late bar".

"The Band To Watch for 2009".
