I remember thinking last time I lived in Dublin how everyone was mad for having balconies and barbecues and convertibles.
It still rained just as often as far as I could tell.

I got my first paid job as an illustrator with them. I was all set to negotiate a big drop in my fee to get on good terms with them. I thought , I'll only ask for 150 per illo and maybe it'll lead to better things. I was quite taken aback when the gave me 50 for two drawings. Not exactly Conde Nast they joked...not exactly minimum wage I thought.

I was at this open house for a movie theatre that's been around since the 50s
Tons of great artwork in the ads.
They had a cartoonist ON STAFF!
