DEMO OF THE MONTH
THE VIOLENT FUCKWITS
BEYOND
REDEMPTION
**** (4 stars out of 5)
Billy Riot and the boys from Belfast take no prisioners on 'Beyond Redemption'.
Lashing out at former old-school punks on 'You usta be a punk', Riot yells, ''You say you usta be a punk/thru modsdown the stairs/now your drinking g&t's/and buying fucking shares''. The Violent Fuckwits also attack the present goverment and political correctness on this 11-track debut with the swagger and snarl of classic 70's and 80's punk. The rallying cry, Call back to arms' is the standout track here, as it contains one of the albums best singalong chourses. The CD also comes with 8 bonus kariokie tracks - instrumental versions of their originals with Riot belting certain lines, particularly beakening you to raise your fist and join the chaos. 'Beyond Redemption' should make the old geezers who left the scene years ago clambering to get back in again - if the Fuckwits will have them, that is.
