how do i (or is it even possible) take something i've recorded on an 8mm video camera and put it onto a computer ?

and if that's possible . how does one go about streaming and the like ?

what kind of soft/hardwar would i require ?

thank you. but that's not an answer now is it ?

yes it is possible! You have to send off the old tape to the a processing place and they will transfer it to digital media for you. Send a private message to Ian and he will give you the details I know he does this all the time.

Any alternative is play the 8mm file on a screen and record it will a digital camera! Ian did this for the Joan of Arse video!

handiest way it to get a cheapo video capture card / usb thing and hook the camcorder into that then record the footage onto the computer as a big assed ole AVI file

then edit it

then convert to real video or windows media (both converters freely available)

it's not exactly rocket science... hey I do it, so how hard can it be?
