I'm looking into buying a van for the purpose of converting into a crew cab touring monster,
gots a few questions though:

I'm thinking about getting a transit, I've heard people say it's better to get a pre 01 model because they're easier to fix/easier to find parts for them etc.
Also it'd be cheaper. What do yis think about this?

Should I just look for a van with a crew cab or is it difficult/expensive to convert?

Any general advice oh ye men of vans could impart would be appreciated also.

I think if you look outside your gaff you will find a pre 01 transit van parked on the road that you own. If any more touring vans come on the scene we'll have to call a strike. Regulation in the van driving scene is needed I think. Take a leaf out of the taxi drivers book. What happened to the good oul days of punks driving bangers? Posh new vans must the future.

Expensive to convert: Yes. Vans with crew cabs are pretty expensive though.

Crew cabs are pricey but they do increase the value of the
van. Expect to pay 3 grand for a crew cab. Heard recentley
that new regs for vans carrying bands & music gear must
have half inch steel bulkhead - no more ply!

Dunno how true that is though.

I know a guy selling 2 sets of 3 seats with belts & 2 single
seats with belts. Perfect for diy crew cabbing.
These seats are lovely looking & brand new - 250e the lot.

i heard eoin's van is going to have a full bar and weed factory in the back, powered off five lesuire batteries. and he's only going to charge 35 quid a day.

Heard something about this yeh. Apparently the can seize it. Doubt they'll actually do anything about it though as long as the job that's done on it looks sound.

Also might be getting rid of a set of 2 seats for a Transit.
