you had a bad day, you're takin' one down....etc etc etc

Looks like the Republicans will just about hold the Senate.
Previously, in 2001, there was 50 50 in the senate meaning everyones favorite face shooter, Dick Cheney would split the tie.
The thing is, there two indos in the Senate at the moment.

Anyone know what the craic with these creatures? Cause, if they are, lets say, not racist, biggoted, xenophobic scumlording pricks, they might vote against the Reps, effectively meaning that the Senate could be evenish?

Is this true?

Jesus Christ.
Have a look at this...

His own fucking party can't let themselves be seen with him. The man's a leper.
"The president was there, but Crist was not. And the White House signaled its unhappiness."

Ha ha ha. What a prick.

between all this and britney spears filing for divorce from her cornrow-wearing "rapper" hubbie, i have not done ONE work-related thing all day!

huzzah!

Huzzah indeed. I did jack shit today, then through a little temper tantrum at the boss, stormed out of the place, and then figured out a solution on the way home, programmed it up, and set it running from home.

Should be all nice and done by the morning. Yay me.

Work eh? Its a gas.

It's little victories like this one: http://elections.us.reuters.com/top/news/usnN07478972.html that actually point to a real change on the ground, even if the Republicans do retain control of the senate, which I hope they don't.

Dear America,

Welcome home to yourself. Now don't do it again, okay?

Love,
Janey poo

hear hear girlie. I thought that was one of the best stories of the day too.

and i did get a little excited that nancy pelosi will be the first woman speaker of the house in history.

Nothing has changed.

Nothing will change.

A false sense of relief.

Sorry to be so cynical, but, you know...we've been here before.

no one said anything of that nature.

i think most would agree on the "lesser of two evils" approach. but to be quite honest, i am hugely pleased to see the republicans slipping. is that a bad thing? no.

Joe Lieberman's one of them and apparently he'll take a Democrat type line on things. The other chaps called Bernie Sanders, don't know anything about him.

This must be the first time I've felt slightly nervous about the results of a foreign election. Odd.

Any word on Bernie Sanders in Vermont?
Do the Yanqui's have their first Socialist Congressman?

I don't think it'll change anything in the short term, Bush never listening to the Seante or Congress anyway, so he'll keep ploughing away on his own mad little furrow... but it does indicate a fall in confidence in the G.O.P... and hopefully will show Democrats they can win these Election thingys

hopefully they can just keep focused for another two years

and hopefully republicans and their brood keep taking bribes, creeping out young interns with sexy e-mails, being outted as gay, anti gay, crystal meth fiends, etc, etc

"any body who didnt vote for me in the midterms is a dead body

i said "i'll be back" and i meant it."

guess he wasnt lying there. they must have a soft spot for arnold in san fran

I reckon you'll start seeing changes pretty quickly.
For one, I'd say the democrats will kick off an investigation into the handling of the invasion and occupation of Iraq a.s.a.p. - as they feel it's the reason they've been put back in the running.

He didn't have to. His party controlled Congress and, irrespective of any gripes, could be relied upon to pass any legislation he wanted. Now he's going to have to deal with a bunch of Democrats with a majority and a mandate (particularly with regard to Iraq).

And he won't be able to just not listen. They're the legislative branch of government with powers enshrined in the constitution for chrissakes.

wow bella, firing on all cylinders today you must have had a good cuppa joe this morning. thats a real nail on the head answer there. it wont be dramatic changes but an effective change to proceedings none the less and i for one have a slight spring in my step today. not that the democrats are better, they still have to prove themselves, its just that now bush cant steamroll through his little head fantasies he now has to ask permission from the teacher if he need to go pee.

we could do with this sort intense interest and shakeup of politics over here.
