-

When I moved back to Leixlip I brought loads of CDs and only a few tapes but there`s no CD player in my room.
None the less I`ve been listening to:
Aus Rotten - "The Rotten Agenda"/Harum Scarum/Lost World all on one excellent tape (thanks Nooly).
Ken`s mix-tape which includes a deadly Darkest Hour song.
The Clash - "the Story of the Clash" ; liberated from HMV last week.
The Broadways - "Broken Van"
Fig. 4.0 - "Action Image Exchange"
From Ashes Rise - "Silence"
Strike Anywhere - "Change is a Sound"
Small Brown Bike - "Dead Reckoning" (I am only listening to this in my head as Damo has my CD)

CANNIBAL OX: The Cold Vein (underground Hip Hop from new york. Extremely dark and psychedelic. No be-atches or big pimpin' here)

MERZBOW: 1930 (violent electronic noise from Japan. No vocals, no rhythms, no melodies. Painfully high frequencies and stomach-upseting bass tones. Great for piss off neightbours and housemates)

THROBBING GRISTLE: SECOND ANNUAL REPORT (one of the most difficult and important albums ever written)

WHITEHOUSE: CRUISE (the most viciously misogynistic and vile lyrics over painful atonal noise. Great)

MISSY ELLIOTT: MISS E... SO ADDICTIVE (pure genius)

KID606: KID606 THE ACTION PACKED MENTALLIST BRINGS YOU THE FUCKING JAMS (gabber record which breaks all copyright laws)

MEAT BEAT MANIFESTO: ORIGINAL FIRE (extrememly heavy techno. Shamellesly ripped off by the Prodigy, Chemical Brothers, Future Sound of London, but much much better)

NON: EASY LISTENING FOR IRON YOUTH (violent noise by the leader of the church of satan, a balm for the soul)

LEONARD COHEN: GREATEST HITS (nothing needs to be said)

KING TUBBY: all records dating from 1974-1979 (King of Dub reggae)

NURSE WITH WOUND: HOMOTOPY TO MARIE (completely bizzare and utterly unmusical)

Not to mention: MS DYNAMITE's current single, BASEMENT JAXX, JAY-Z and AALIYAH.

Ha .. i guess the list looks sumwat poserish .. but it is wat i'm listening to this week and that's wat the post is about.. and at least i didnt pay collector dork prices for em just got em from trades and ppl i kno for cheapo prices .. and it's really just 3 rare records .. ..

so blahh .

try this shit again.............

last post fucked up. time to start again.

re: dead prez - this group is a piece of shit. you can't honestly think that album is good? 'hip hop' and 'the pistol' are pretty good tracks (although kinda dated now...or maybe i'm more schooled......who knows) - the rest is laughably bad. 'mind sex' or whatever that fuckin catastrophy is called sounds like it was written by Smoove B from the Onion. they're on a major label and were smoked up whilst recording that album. that's kinda cool, but their music is terrible. the roots and blackalicious and slum village also suck. Buy Illmatic or something. that's cool.

re: hip hop mix for grimes
glad you liked it. i'll do you another one (or hook you up with the full albums of whatever you dug) if you do me a mix of SUNN O)))), Khanate and Burning Witch. not heard enough of that shit. any sign of that ORCHARD lp? those guys rule!!!!
no really...i like em.
are you going to the def jux night? i'm comin up from Big L for it.
Can Ox was amazing. and yeah you blew it by missing cLOUDDEAD / Reaching quiet / Boom Bip and Dose. sucker.

re: the guy who said can ox are 'psychadelic'
pretty shitty description, kudos for having taste.

what i've been bumpin in my lexus:

-Anticon - 'We Aint Fessin (Double Quotes)' - some dude from tortoise produced one of the tracks. that should have gottent a lot people with mediocre taste in music interested! but it didn't. best 3 songs ever. well 2 of them are amazing. buy this. give anticon their money.
-Alias - 'the other side of the looking glass'
-Sole - 'learning to walk'
-Themselves - 'the no music' (this is amazing)
-some piece of shit CD i got at 'the ballroom of romance' last week. i got a ballroom of romance of my own for those dorks.
-RJD2 - deadringer
-El-P - Fan Dam
-Daughters - 7'' (some of you cats would love this)
-Femme Fatale
-Orchard - ST. Orchard named their album Orchard. that's cool.
-Blood Brothers - Rumours Laid Waste and March on the Electric Children
and emperor and black sabbath and other shit.

peace,

andrew

ouch, a hard dis about dead prez... from a reformed hater as well !
