dont need spotlight, i know where most stuff on my powerbook is.
&
you can dowload an application called KONFABULATOR for panther which displays widgets if its just that u want.

did u put it on ur powerbook?

whats the airport extreme speed like now?
does the G4 pocessor run bit faster?
we are nerds, arent we?
im still skeptical.

Yeah put in on the powerbook, I bought it.

Airport seems to work a bit better actually. For some strange reason, broadband speed seems higher????? Safari RSS is cool and there's an updated Mail version too. I think it's sweet and yes I am a nerd, a happy nerd at that!!!

Using Tiger is grand...
All the new stuff is cool enough, but not stuff that I'd use all the time...
I've used it quite a bit now on another mac but not my own...
Once they iron out a few of the bugs (what are they?)
then I'll think about installing it on mine...

Having said that, Motion 2's use of widgets as part of the app are deadly...

why is built in FireWire required? I'm thinking of putting Tiger on my G3 powerbook for the laugh. It was the last version before Firewire was introduced, it has USB and SCSI.

I'm not sure it really does need a FireWire, I think that is just a convenient way for apple to date your computer. I have Tiger running on a G3 iBook and it works a treat. You shouldn't have a problem.

Why dont you install 10.1 first and then upgrade bit by bit till you find one it can handel best...
I wouldent go higher than panther on that...
No fancy shtuff using tiger on my powerbook...
In fact I hate tiger,
10.3.9 best os ever

fuck incremental upgrades, even though Ive been doing that on my mac here for the last 2 years, the thing is on its last legs though os wise. When I worked in Apple we were basically advised never do an upgrade, clean install all thw way, not so easy to do though when you have to reinstall all your apps again as well

yea, I'm buiding up to a clean install on my G4. And a HD initialisation gulp!

the thought of a clean install makes me feel ill
