1).
Nobody ever cried to a Pavement song.

2).
Bill Hicks has about 20mins worth of good material endlessly repeated. And Richard Pryor wasn't half as funny as we like to pretend.

3).
Most people are in a band just to be in a band and not because they have a single note or lyric in their heads that's worth hearing.

I'm not down with the recent crop of Hicks h8rz at all, but then again I didn't go to any of those tribute nights in Dorans. That'd probably put me completely off ill Bill for good

I cwy to Pavement befaw. Crappy indie jangle music make me and my sloth cwy.

So what is their equivalent of Hardly Getting Over IT or Too Far Down - would it be Carrot Rope, Major Leagues?

They sound nice but are all surface. Nothing more than fluff.

A distraction. Lo-Fi elevator music.

1) i had tears in my eyes the first time i listened to them whilst high and decided i'd never be as good a songwriter as malkmus...does that count....?
2) i'd say it's more like 45 minutes. nobody comes even remotely close to George Carlin.
3) two words: daddy issues.

1) does that mean i win?

3) i have this theory, see, that a lot of folk get into rock bands in order to impress their uncaring and distant fathers. lord knows i did, but then, my dad is a slab of granite located in the further reaches of siberia.
