Just a perfect two-minute pop song, much better than Blondie's cover.

American Analog Set. Never really got these guys back in the heyday of late 90s, early 00s American, or maybe more particularly Texan, post-rock (Texas seems like a geographical focal point for a certain forlorn brand of post-rock. Think of open barn doors on fresh Summer evenings. Early David Gordon Green maybe).

I've been listening to them this week though, in particular this gem. Think I may have had the wrong album. Gloriously forlorn.

Love that song. It's been put on many mixes. Great summery day music.

Another good one:

Totally agree.

Big time. I could listen to the Nerves version forever, although I grew up with Blondie's version.

That the Nerve's original isn't widely known is a desperate shame. I knew Jilted John and Sham 69 shite about 15 years before I ever got round to hearing it.

Like the aspects of Prince and the 80s that I adore perfectly realised.

I love this album HARD and I can't wait to listen to this after a few glasses of wine on a warm Spain evening. Bliss. Less than four weeks.

And in my opinion matched by all of the songs on the EP, which is just insanely good

That's class. Plus there's a whole thesis load you could write about that e.p. It was considered retro in 1976, the one song was covered by a band that were in the avant garde of the late 70s new wave punk scene and the whole e.p sounds like it was recorded yesterday by current retro fascinated pop bands that proliferate the "scene" now.

Also the tunes are fucking class which helps.

This little 'ride' of a song. Actually the album gets kind of boring halfway through. Lockett Pundt, innit.
