this was top. really unique atmosphere. if only every gig was like this (sigh).

i suppose if every gig was like that it wouldn't be unique HOWEVER there's nothing to stop people at least trying to do gigs along these lines.

Ah, Hokey! It's all in the thread titled 'Joe Lally'.

Basically they play a good bit on the album and it's abysmal.

I am not dissing Joe though. I just think he's made a poor album.


I'd say he'd do a good job of driving over you, if he had too.

i haven't heard anything about it, doesn't mean they're not though. They are in Australasia touring at the moment so i doubt it's very soon.

fugazi related - i saw joe lally playing with zu in bristol weekend before last - pretty amazing stuff. they played as his backing band - his songwriting is pretty cool, was playing a viola bass with 'light' instrumental backing from zu - and then zu came on a played and blowed the place up. was awesome. hopefully facilitating getting lally/zu over to ireland in the near future.

Recently saw Lally/ZU myself and concur with Mr. Hag to a tee. ZU were Scanners-head-explosion intense.
