Querelle is a tiny creature with sharp bones and round curves. Born and bred in London, but conceived in Italy, Querelle’s been moving forward and swerving sideways since late 2001, when she debuted live Upstairs at the Garage in support of her beloved companion The Dudley Corporation.
The line up currently consists of 2 cocks, 2 tits, 10 strings and 2 sticks.

She’s so far created a bit of a stir in the UK capital, and mated with KaitO, Life Without Buildings, Degrassi, Econoline among many others.

She’s available on a bunch of promiscuous compilation CDs and she’s shared vinyls with the Wow first, and The Dudley Corporation recently.

She’s been described as follows:
“The contrasting question / answer dynamics, switching from floaty dreaminess to rugged, twisted awkward feedback is chillingly good, and while Sonic Youth are so often bandied about as an influence for bands, it's clear here that they've got a bit of thing for alt. jazz punk noise.”

(Playlouder)

“Querelle are the punch in the face that you know is about to come, the relationship you can feel ineluctably sliding down to its messy end….Mesmerising.”

(Oxford News)

“They look beautiful, they sound even better and comparisons be damned, I'd pay to see them anytime I can.”

(Smoking Beagle)

"A sound as expansive as that of The Mars Volta. Post-rock someone called it. Wrong. Clangourous, Albini-approved ramshackle rock is closer to the mark. Like Shellac? Imagine a half-speed, half-awake version of the same and you've got them pinn."

(Logo Magazine)

“Stretched over a canvas of deliquescent pessimism and lyrically painted by the delicate intones of an Italian Julian Casablancas, Querelle depict a triumph of post-rock romanticism, nursed by tentative guitars and submissive bass lines.”

(Lipgloss Magazine)

“A charming sense of mid-period Sonic Youth-like urgency, vocalist Gypsy’s simple rhymes gifting it the sort of instant accessibility that so many of their indigenous peers - Lo-Fi Sucks and Laundrette for example - seem to lack.”

(Drowned in Sound)

Querelle is now considering offers from a series of record labels and you should be expecting to find her at your record smuggler’s den with a new EP sometimes in the summer.

Gypsy -------> guitars, vocals
Antokio -----> bass, programming
Valentina ---> drums
