Carriages are Harry Bookless (Little Xs For Eyes) and Aaron Page (Water Cycle). Formed in 2012 as a recording project, Carriages use field recordings, captured in and around Dublin city to create a backdrop for their songs to create a warmth and familiarity in their music that wouldn’t be possible using traditional drum machines and samples.
Carriages have set out to capture a living city in their music, by using recordings from parks, museums, concert halls and coastlines around their hometown while their lyrics draw influence from the changing seasons, loves won and lost, and the journeys we make each day.
July 2014 sees the launch of Carriages’ second release. A double A-side single featuring new song Roots, and Significant Landscapes, one of the first songs the pair wrote together. The single features artwork by James Kirwan and will be available through iTunes, Spotify, Bandcamp and usual online stores on July 2nd 2014.
