t-shirts (1 Viewer)

Aren't there any college art students that study silkscreening and want to make a few quid off all us who need t shirts?

There is a company in Chicago called Screwball press who customed all their silkscreens.

Great stuff.

But I have found irish prices too high.

( No one here seems to be too surprised)

There's a t-shirt printing place above the Sonar restaurant on Crow Street (where the Blackfort Gallery was). Seriously... it's there.

And PM Sarah.. her mam used to work for a screen printers on the Northside or something.
Incorrect she did a course on screenprinting, wouldn't be too sure
if she would know where to get cheap T-shirts done though.

It's Ashley... It's sort of difficult to find them attractive though, I still remember them as infants on Full House. That's a bit bothering. It's like Watching the Fucking 'Truman Show' or something.

You should see Mary Kate, she looks more and more like fiona Apple. That is ever more bizarre. I had a quick mental flash of Fiona Apple's criminal video and replaced Fiona with Mary Kate. I feel very dirty.

I need soap.

And a good talk with my local priest.

i was gonna do a t-shirt thread too.

my band are currently in cahoots with two people who run a t-shirt stall in the barrow st market (i think it's that one, fatslide correct me if i'm wrong) anyway they are in the process of designing/doing up some prototype t-shirts for us for what is hopefully going to work out real cheap or at least great value. (numbers n figures coming soon).

all going well with us, they are hoping we'll put other bands/musicians looking to get t-shirts done, in touch with them. they do each t-shirt individually by hand (note: they use a stencil technique not screenprinting) so this would suit small orders only i'd say. the up-side of this is you could potentially have customised t-shirts ( each one with a different design and therefore maybe that bit more special) - at no extra cost.

it's early days yet. pm me and i will let you know the details when i have em.

If you pick up the current National Enquirer you can read all about their boyfriends and their sex lives. And the fact that one is on the pill but the other isn't. Jesus tonight. And they're not even 18 yet. It's just shocking to have that shite splashed across a magazine page.

And no I didn't buy the magazine myself so you can't touch me! :D

someone really should have mentioned this earlier when the workshops in the art colleges were still open.
maybe if you put up a sign in places like ncad and dun laorigigoeieireh saying you want people to do screen printing for you, someone will still have facilities.
i heard its not that difficult to set up your own screen print stuff though. u just need space and a room you can make dark i think. diy

my solution for all these problems: patches.
apparently there's a place in dun laoighaire that does you up about 5 million embroidered patches for 2c. then get a job lot of white t-shirts and set aside two days for sowing.

alternatively, just sell the patches.
i told compactriscers to do this. did they listen?

james hay of electric eel shock offered these places for t-shirts

"We use
www.firebrandlive.com
2.90 a shirt or something
Really good service I drop him an email and he gets them to
anywhere in Europe for us within a couple of days - he even goes
on the website works out the best venue to send them to, gets the
details etc etc

We used to use
www.loomland.com

They are nearly as cheap and do smaller runs"

You can actually silkscreen at home. It's a bit messy but, we usd to do it all the time back in chicago for our little high school punk rock bands. You just need a to get the screen fixed for you.

It does get addictive...

I was also told that if you want great prices on T shirts. Source them through China, have them arrive in Norhtern Ireland and drive up or have them posted down. The chinese will do it for something like 1 euro a shirt. It's a sick price.

If anyone is interested, I can get my buddy back in the states to send on the info. But, these chinese don't just sell, 50 shirts. It has to be at least a few hundred of so.
