LAZYBIRD
Sunday, 9pm 'til closing
International Bar (upstairs), Wicklow Street, Dublin 2
__________________________________________
We've got a nice combination of stuff this week at Lazybird, with sets from LPX and BUSS KONDUKTEUR. Read on...
LPX is Leigh O'Gorman from Kildare making his Lazybird debut. Not only does he organise the Electric Fix nights here in Dublin, but using only a laptop, tapes, keyboards, effects and vocals (actually, that's quite a lot), he also makes music which proudly wears its influences on its sleeve: Joy Division, Throbbing Gristle, The Pop Group and more.
Well, that's our description. Here's his:
"Aural assault via verbal and sound sha'ttack, this Electric Fixer is known for abrasive and commanding shows, expect dubby sounds by way of (mount)joy divison and synth growls by way of your (f)ears!"
He's also got a twin-EP release planned for next month. More info here:

BUSS KONDUKTEUR are the notorious Carroll brothers, Justin and Roy. Both have played Lazybird before in a myriad of forms (too many to count, actually), and have covered electronica, jazz, improv and most everything in between. Tonight, they'll be (in their words) "kind of dub-ish sometimes, with beats of some sort most of the time."
And as a bonus, we've also got Barry Murphy doing a bit of laptop DJing on the night as well. How much more fun-packed can it get? And it's all yours for a fiver, starting at 9pm.

And Neilio Iglesias is at the controls this week for Radio-Inactivity, our weekly Lazybird webcast. Begins at 6pm and goes for 90 glorious minutes on http://www.powerfm.org. Music to Sunday roast by. Tune in, turn up, drone on.
