i nearly had to pretend i got something in my eye listening to 'carry me ohio' on my walkman going past the bridewell the other week.
kozelek's version of 'bad boy boogie' is another total heartbreaker.

i think all the albums are mixed bags and the best of 'old ramon' is up there with the best of the catalogue.

never saw him / them live tho, the stories put me off.....

still... The second cd of the retrospective contains some amazing tunes and is prolly my fave although not a proper ablum, I love the way some of the tunes have the tape chewed up during... and the acoustic vertion of shock me is amazing...

Totally agree, I only really got into RHP after I got Retrospective, it was a good place to start in the going backwards sense (?), even now having picked up most of the earlier stuff i keep going back to that 2nd retrospective cd.
Gotta love 'Shock Me'....
