Used to really like the Discover option on spotify. Aside from the regular playing of an album, it was the only feature I used. algorithm was nailing recommendations for me, even down to relative obscurities I already knew and really liked. Gone to shit of late, recommendations are the same for over a month and based on bands I listened to briefly one night weeks ago. Seem to be trying to force some bullshit playlists in my face moreso instead now. Pricks

@pete are they changing regularly? as in once/twice a week? thats how frequent it used to be for me, been about a month with the same ones at this stage

well the weekly changes weekly(!) - the daily playlists throw up a lot of the same stuff but to be honest i'm ok with that - i only listen to them in the car to & from work and it suits me just fine. everyone should listen to Chapel of Ghouls at least once a day, like.

the number of daily mixes available fluctuates between 4 and 6, usually depending on whether i've left the PC logged in and the kids have been on spotify

So right now i've

Daily mix 1 - Decapitated, Nile, Hate Eternal etc
Daily mix 2 - Homewrecker, Weekend Nachos, Full of Hell etc
Daily mix 3 - Corrosion of Conformity, YOB, Mastodon etc
Daily mix 4 - King Tuff, Ariel Pink, Parquet Courts etc

5 & 6 used to be greatest showman & the like, and tween radio pop stuff. thanks kids.

My boss in work left his laptop open a little while ago with the homepage of Spotify showing. All his Daily Mixes consisted of Backstreet Boys and NSync. It was really bizarre.
