Something similar put an end to The Boomtown Rats.
Apparently, as the main songwriter, Geldof was getting most of the money, so he was going to gigs in a private jet while the rest of the lads flew coach with an airline. So they all said "fuck this". And he said "fuck you". And it was fucked.
