I'm trying to remember if there was some town that got super fast internet as a model for the future. I think there was.
Does anyone remember this? Or which town it was?

Ennis was ireland's first "Information age town" in 1997.

There are plenty of services out there - I think Comreg have a look up thing but you need to pick an area first

By rural do you mean shitkicker towns and villages or do you mean if your neighbour is a bull like me?

I pay too much for 8 meg wireless broadband with a 70 (increasing to 100 this month) gig free cap. But it'll stream 4OD and shit pretty well.

I was in deepest Wicklow for a period and the internet was generally fine, a little slower than Dublin but not to the point that it got annoying.
