I remember one time years ago in belfast it snowed really heavy. Of course everyone was out for a snowball fight and living around the Botanic area meant it was chaos with students etc. Anyway,if your familiar with where the train station is on Botanic avenue, there was an army jeep parked just at the top of the little hill and the soldiers were getting destroyed by snowballs from all sides. They were hiding behind the doors of the jeep and had set their guns down to throw snowballs back!!!!! Eventually of course they won the fight as they were able to use radio to call for reinforcements who came from both sides of the hill. It was all done in good humour though surprisingly.

They won the battle, but the war...

When I was going to school, for the first three years of secondary school, our school was beside an Army checkpoint.
Every time it snowed, the soldiers would get pelted until one of them would have to come in and tell the teachers to make the kids stop throwing snowballs at them. It was great fun.
