horrorspolisofwarlp.jpg
THE HORROR - spoils of war lp 9€ (white vinyl)
15 fast-paced cuts that generally run less than two minutes a piece and tear through nothing but fierce, raging hardcore/punk with super pissed shouting vocals and raw lead bursts. They cite amongst their influences Discharge, Negative Approach, and SS Decontrol, and you can definitely pick up on such classics herein, so… you know where these cats are comin' from.

preyinghandsthroughthedarklp.jpg
PREYING HANDS - through the dark lp 10€
From the ashes of the Canadian band, BALLAST, comes PREYING HANDS, taking the next logical step for what could be said to be the third BALLAST LP. The sound has congealed to overtly melodic while still keeping the rawness and raging feel of a hardcore punk band. I hear all kinds of great influences, from Post Regiment to The Avengers to Propagandhi. Nice guitar arrangements with smart drumming that only adds to the ambiance of this record. Spoke's vocals have also taken a great step forward on this release. Great album.

morneuntoldwaitlp.jpg
MORNE - untold wait lp 12€
Morne is a band that I guess most of you already know or should know. They come from Boston and play awesome metallic crust, and I guess they're compared with Amebix for a reason, also cause it has some slow and heavy ambient parts I'd even go with Neurosis with this. That figures in a way, since two guys that played in Filth of Mankind and Disrupt/Grief also play in here (guitars). This is the latest album the band has released, and it's put out by Feral Ward Records in the states. Untold Wait contains the re-recorded tracks from the demo and one new track making this whole journey last for around 50 mins. The record also feature guest musicians Alicia Morgan of the band 13, as well as Kris Force, who is best known for her work with Amber Asylum, Swans and Neurosis

TRAP THEM - Seizures In Barren Praise LP 13€ (triple gatefold jacket cover plus digital download coupon, white vinyl)
Once again engineered by Kurt Ballou at Godcity Studios, Seizures In Barren Praise shows Trap Them at their most vicious. Having mastered the art of aural bludgeoning, the album musically rips, stomps, and claws forth with rabid emotion - all of this a fitting backdrop to Ryan McKenney lyrical stories of depression and pain. deathwish records.

carpathianisolation.jpg
CARPATHIAN - isolation lp 12€ (black/grey vinyl)
Within each of the ten songs that comprise "Isolation," Carpathian's overall growth is apparent. Cohesive song writing, fantastic recorded performances and a powerful collective vision shine throughout. Taking on personal and social/environmental subject matter, Carpathian vocalist/lyricist Martin Kirby strives to not only express but also educate willing ears to live positively in this negative world - instilling the fact that Carpathian are one of the few bands out there today that remain as inspiring as they are highly entertaining. narrowsnewdistances.jpg
NARROWS - new distances lp 12€ (white vinyl)
Anchored by a minimalist punk framework and elaborated by squalls of angular guitar noise, New Distances is simultaneously beguiling and dissonant. Helmed by Verellen signature roar, the resulting compositions owe as much to the early hardcore pioneers as to New York and London post-punk founders. Terminally bleak, counter-intuitive to the standard rock paradigm, and at odds with everyone, Narrows debut is an angry slab of nihilistic abandon. Now available on clear and colored vinyl with a gatefold cover. FREE DIGITAL DOWNLOAD INCLUDED! deathwish records.

In the wake of Crass, the UK birthed a large scene of anarcho-punk bands such as Subhumans, Rudimentary Peni, Flux Of Pink Indians, and, perhaps the best known of all, Amebix. Their seminal Arise album, originally released by Alternative Tentacles in 1985, remains one of the genre's ultimate statements, featuring elements of Black Sabbath, Motorhead, and Venom infused with a healthy dose of early punk's gutter grime and Crass' confrontational imagery.

SSR - sedition sub rosa lp 10€
SSR are a brand new band from Richmond, VA put together around AGHAST's axe-wielding madman Shraven. Their debut LP contains eleven tracks of brutal 80's style thrash straight out of the "Cleanse the Bacteria" school of hardcore punk. While the music is based on a pretty straight-forward style of fast hardcore (hints of Swedish and Japanese influences), they also mix in a lot of originality which makes you want to listen to it over and over again.
