Saw this in the IFI earlier today.
Very good indeed.
Kind of reminiscint of All The Real Girls, The King and Dead Man's Shoes.
Definite Malick influence too.

I don't normally pay any heed to The Ticket, but apparently they had this in their top 10 films of the year?

Yes. Pretty sure I started a thread about it too. Good flick. Michael Shannon left his mark in a big way - definitely one of those actors who does very little extremely well, in a Robert Mitchum Warren Oates kind of way. Quiet, nuanced. He was tremendously baleful in Before the Devil Knows You're Dead too.

I wouldn't pay too much heed to critics regardless. David Thomson is one of the few people I can read in regard to film criticism.
Not a great year for films in regard to what was released in the cinema this year. In this country anyway.
