DAVE FINNEGAN ALLSTARS (featuring members of Sharkbait, Scared Stiff)
Dave Finnegan is best known as Mickah Wallace in the Commitments movie (drummer / bouncer) Dave started busking on the streets of Dublin in the mid 1980s playing rockabilly / psychobilly music which led to several bands most notably Shark Bait. They built a very loyal following in Ireland & made several visits to England which also included some shows at the infamous Klubfoot. The band split at their peak never recording an album. Next came Scared Stiff a Rockabilly / Blues outfit who recorded an album called Dark Streets.
Soon after Alan Parkers Commitments came knocking, where life changed a bit and Hollywood came knocking. Dave toured with the stars from the Commitments which saw them tour the world several times. Dave took a break in 2008 and is now back again with a clean bill of health and ready to rock……….

BOPPIN’ KIDS (ITA): Wild Italian Neo – Rockabilly. First visit to Ireland. In 1984 the Boppin’Kids, still in their teens, started as a visibly underage rockabilly trio, playing wild rock’n’roll sessions after school in their hot hot hot hometown, in Sicily, Italy. Following a few school gigs and some hiccups with the legal system, in ’86 the band signed up with Rock 86/Polygram Rec and their first album " Go Wild" immediately entered the national charts with the much celebrated "Tainted Love". Radio, press and national TV recognized their talent and contributed to spread the Boppin’ Kids mania around.

THE JOSEPHS: WARNING! Occasional gobs of spit and free flying sweat can rain down on you if you get to close to the front man of this Punk Mod Pop band. Screaming and stomping their way through their forty minute set you are not likely to forget this band’s violently energetic sound in too much of a hurry. Whilst their sound is reminiscent of The Ruts, The Buzzcocks and the Undertones with a hefty dollop of The Who and Small faces thrown in. this band's style and swagger still refuses to be pigeonholed too easy. Currently preparing to do what they do best, get back on stage and play live , their audience of Punks, Mods, Teds, Rockabilly’s and anyone else who thinks their tough enough wait eagerly. Brothers and Sisters be warned do not miss this band

Pity it's in the Academy

Don't know if it makes a difference but it's in the smaller venue in the academy & we have the venue until close which i think is 2.30am. Ain't easy booking a venue in Dublin to begin with since the voodoo closed & the academy is the only venue within our budget that we can get for the full night without handing over a stupid amount of money.
