removing yourself from a google search (1 Viewer)

a mate joined a social networking site and promptly forgot about it. he was annoyed to find his details in a google search months later. he promptly closed the account, however his details are still fully available in google's cache for the page.

o good people of thumped, does anyone have any idea how long google's cache for a page stays in existence?
can you request it be removed?

can definitely be done if you're the owner of a site. not so sure about other stuff. doubt it actually.

it depends how often the website updates? I think the cache is only a few days to a week for something like facebook

You can try and drown the offending site out and move it's pagerank down, it's a bit of a project though.
