get a wooden box fill it 7/8ths full with yourself then get a pice of foam and stuff the gap
 
You only need to look at the front of records in shops because you don't know what's coming next.
If you have enough records to need shelves you really should be organising them,alphabetically(has beeen previously discussed)is the way to go. If they are organised and you at least have a decent idea of what you have the spine is all you need to see.

i got one of those, but 5x5 hole one, in finland. the squares are just over 12" so they're just perfect. that one is 99€ in Ikea (

I know some people who have bought 5x5's recently in america,hopefully if they do come to ireland they stock them.

we keep the majority of our vinyl and cd's on one of these fellers.
