Michael Nesmith/First National Band - Loose Salute

I seem to remember really liking Loose Salute but I haven't listened to it in ages. Added to my very long must dig that one out for a listen list.

picked up Powerage on vinyl as I only have the good AC/DC albums on cd.

I've just listened to Side 1 so far, but it's good. His voice reminds me of Gene Clark at times. Nice cover of I Fall To Pieces on it.

Florida Funk 2xLP Compilation released by Jazzman Records in 2006

Had a copy of this in my hands in Plugd around 2006 and decided to not bother with it having recently bought the Mid West Funk comp at the time (great fucking comp by the way). Regretted it later on. Had been keeping tabs on this for a few years online. Sells for, or is up for sale anyway, at stupid prices. Last week I nabbed a NM copy for maybe a tenner above what I would have payed for it in 2006. Not a a great deal by any means but it seems to not show up at genuinely reasonable prices. So, a good deal within reason.

Seriously good heavy, deep funk. Really well put together liner notes too on inner sleeves and gatefold giving great info about the local groups playing. Will slowly but surely get the California, Carolina and Texan ones to complete the set. Absolute quality stuff on the two comps I have. Highly recommended. The CDs are pretty easily available at very good prices I'm pretty sure

It was good(not complaining),but I didn't think it was as amazing as I overheard others say. The venue doesn't help. That raised dancefloor sucks, you need to be either very close or at t he back to see anything.

I didn't get there in time for the other bands. Shame as I always enjoy Orange Goblin.
