Thin Lizzy - Thunder and Lightning LP. Basically the template for Rollins Band but obviously a thousand times better.

Medictation - Warm Places LP. Dickie Hammond’s swansong, and a fine one at that, albeit as part of a Leatherface tribute act.

Mark Hollis - s/t LP reissue. This album is SO quiet I am wondering for the first time (ever) if CD might have been better, as the slighest pops will interfere. I’m curious to see how it compares, as it’s really not spoken of in the same breath as the last two Talk Talk LPs.

Just looking a the tracklist and description of this, very strange looking comp. Does it make sense when you listen? Did anyone not think rock music existed those years or is it just underrepresented normally or what?

I haven't received it yet. I went into town yesterday looking for those three & and few more & couldn't find anything I was looking for, so I ordered them online.
It's up on spotify

I'm not much of a streamer. Usually when I'm looking for various artists compilations I like ones that stick to a theme or a (sub) genre or an atmosphere. And mostly songs I don't know. If it has too many songs I know I probably wouldn't buy it.
