Part 2 of the DeAgostini collection in newsagents. I reckon I'll dip in and out of this series as it goes
Same here; though I'm disappointed to note the Billie Holliday lp is now €19.99!
You can buy it cheaper than that second hand.
Still, the first two in the series are great.

Intrigued by a photo of these guys in a mail out I checked them out on youtube

If Lynyrd Skynyrd/Georgia Satellites/Jason and the Scorchers is your thing it should appeal to you.

Yep. I'm tired of these re-issue labels bilking people because they want long out-of-print records. The margin of price differences on single LPs these days is insane.
Yeah I agree, it's way too much. I still mainly buy 2nd hand vinyl most of the time and I prefer to see if I can get originals via Discogs, for example, but sometimes the prices there are exorbitant or albums are just not available to buy; hence the reissue market I suppose.
I think reissues on vinyl probably now outsells new vinyl releases!

Are these albums easily available on CD?

I mainly stick to CD's for reissues but a lot of the 80's funk stuff I like is similarly only available on expensive Japanese only CD reissues. Often the original vinyl is cheap as chips though.

I actually really dislike reissue vinyl, I'm fairly set against buying it. I try and convince myself it saves me a fortune... while eyeing up more cd boxsets

I don't think that Walker Brothers ever got a CD release Lili; I don't buy CD's as much anymore, but I'm happy to pick up reissues on CD for sure.
It has been reissued on CD but it's hard to find now. I got it as part of one of those cheap "Three Classic Albums by..." box sets a few years ago.

Alan Jefferson - Galactic Nightmare LP
Absolutely ridicolous Kitsch Sci-Fi Synth concept album, good fun though.

had my eye on that galactic nightmare since it was reissued last year. is it a cohesive listen or is it a bit all over the shop?

Bought on line so haven't received it yet.
It's everything bar the kitchen sink kind of stuff. Like an 80's version of journey to the centre of the earth by rick Wakeman.
It's up on Spotify ...
