REALLY slow laptop.... (1 Viewer)

Hi

I bought an acer laptop a while back - literally just for surfin the web, uploading tracks and the like. Problem is its SO fucking slow I've almost put my fist through it on several occassions. I know its not top of the range but I dont have much on it AT ALL and it still takes ages just to power up. Any ideas of what I can do to speed things up?

edit:I've just realised how manky that sounds.........

- decrapify it to get rid of the preinstalled shite
- run crap cleaner every now and then
- stick as much ram in as you can. if it's vista you want at least 2GB.

should be in the manual, but normally just involves a small philips screwdriver

1. copy everything onto an external drive
2. format the HD, wiping everything,
3. install windows (or whatever OS) and start again.
