yeah, twas in the gallery of photography. exhibition was launched shortly after I had given up trying to get into the place to take pics!

got a new camera this morning; this is one of the first shots off it.

natural history museum is back open, and they seem a lot more relaxed about folks snapping. I approached them about doing a photo essay there bout 4 years ago and they were really strict, could only use prints for personal use and they wanted all negs/files etc afterwards. obviously in the age of 10mp camera phones such restrictions are a bit piontless.

yeah, soon before it closed, citysickness and i and another friend ran lookout for each other as we had our cameras in there and we were actually being followed around by one of the staff who was eyeing our cameras with distrust.

What camera did you get Bastarder?

picked up a secondhand D300 in gunns.

if you don't mind be asking, how much did that set you back? roughly? i'm in the market for a new/old camera myself

€800 for the camera, and also got a 35mm f1.8 lens too (not included in the €800).

worth mentioning - first two were jpegs off the camera, with no PP except the first one was straightened slightly. third one was RAW, processed in adobe camera raw.

have been having a gear splurge myself so far this year (switching from pentax -canon, so flogging stuff to buy stuff).

word of warning - if you want to go, avoid it at the weekends. we were there today and it was bedlam.
