R/S are playing at The Hugh Lane Gallery on Parnell Square this Saturday night. There’ll be lots of new material, the like of which you’ve never stroked, unless you’ve had occasion to caress the hirsute humpback of a half-Tibetan goat clerk.

We’re not too sure of the details but we’ll be playing at 10pm and we believe admission is around €8 if you show up before then.

Decal is also playing and there are other bands and performance artists but we’re not sure who they are or how.

We may not play again this year as we’re working on a new album. If that’s something you might care about, feel free to come along on Saturday night and voice your indignation in the phlegmatic tones of a tubercular dwarf.

If not, why are you still reading this?

Dublin City Gallery The Hugh Lane in collaboration with Pallas Heights and Fergus Byrne

Present OFFSIDE LIVE II

OFFFSIDE LIVE II is the second nighttime extension to OFFSIDE that runs until 30th September 2005.

Featuring

Anne Seagrave: Video, light, lamented images and performance interactions.

Áine Phillips: Durational performance

Decal & Pixelcorps: Electronically based sound & visuals

Jacinta Fahy: Durational performance.

Platinum Ray & The Grind: Spinning vinyl.

Nervous System: Physical theatre

Rod: is a bona fide musician, electronic or otherwise and has been playing synths as long as he’s been able to walk. His deep affair with music stemmed from an early love of electronic landscapes and the machines that created them.

Rollers/Sparkers: Critical responses to Rollers/Sparkers have varied. One notable publication spoke of an "uncertainty [that is] probably intentional" (The Wire). Another resorted to the old chestnut: "weirdly bearded, sonically enhanced bobby dazzlers" (The Irish Times).

Sebastiao Mpembele Kamalandau: Dance piece

Superposition: An electronic & live instrumental trio play three compositions that explore the micro sonic domain, dissonance and forms defined by simultaneous rhythmic cycles.

Tremors Vs Jo Anne Butler: Artcore drones do damage to artificial sculptural landscapes

+++++The Cheapest Bar in Town+++++

Sounds great - the gallery is a great place for music - playing gigs in places that aren't pubs is the way of the future

Once " +++++The Cheapest Bar in Town+++++" is attatched to the press release, I agree with you.

looking forward to seeing rollers sparkers and tremors for the first time-
that rollers sparkers song that was on one of the plastic donkey dvds is deadly

Having art exhibitions not in Galleries is also the way forward. The way forward is like a fork,a fork of uncertainty, which side of the fork do you take?,Im uncertain!..I am a poem,I am art.Bow to me faithfully, bow to me splendidly.

Kudos to anyone who can reference the last line.

Should be there though looks like a buzz.
