I mind a pal of mine got so mad into them that he bought all their back catalogue and was extremely crestfallen. I don't think I ever listened to any of their albums prior to His 'n' Hers but jaysus my pal felt stung.
 
I wasn't really into Pulp at the time - I was living in Coventry and a bit overwhelmed by all the middle-English-ness around me, and Jarvis's schtick just made it worse

I'm over that now, and can acknowledge that this is a fucking cracking record. Well done everyone (applauds)
