MotorStorm arrived this morning... so i don't get to play it until tonight. bah.

this is fucking deadly. finding it a bit hard, even with the motion sensitive controls turned off. it's probably the most visually impressive PS3 game i've seen yet, and a pretty good sountrack too - pitchshifter, QOTSA, nirvana...

i haven't had any problems with my US PS3, which was a bargain at €475ish.... games are way cheaper from places like videogamesplus.ca too

Never having bought an import machine before, I'm a bit cautious. I take it PS3 games aren't region free, so I'd have to import em all?

Doesn't bode well when the likes of Pro Evo come out here. I know Winning Eleven will probably be out first, but I doubt I can play on-line against guys on pro evo.

I didn't go through an importer - I bought it in LA, checked to make sure it worked in the hotel & then carried it home as hand luggage.

PS3 games are region free (but it's cheaper to import anyway); PS2 games are still region locked (not an issue as I have a PS2), as are dvds & bluray movies (also not really an issue since most of my DVDs are region 1 anyway so i think any bluray purchases will continue that trend).

I see play sent me an email yesterday offering me a PS3 on release day if I pre-order now.

The wii sold out everywhere in a few minutes online didn't it? But play are having to pimp the PS3 to all their listed users a week before release???

I reckon it’s a combination of the high price, time of launch, lack of good games and huge amount of stock that’s leading retailers to really advertise ps3s. I heard ireland are getting 20,000 ps3s, plenty of those will sit on shelves and in warehouses until christmas.
