Pete Courtney is back,
He is playing Bewley's theater this Thursday the 9th.
On Grafton street
I had seen him supporting the after math last week and he is on fire...
Here is what i picked up of the internweb..
Some Songwriters are classic, others are profound and yet Pete Courtney still finds a room to create a space in an overpopulated zone.
From the get go he takes an audience from a soft acoustic angle into the realms of electric experimentation, incorporating clothes brushes, radios, music boxes and more, which all only serve to enhance subtle yet catchy melodies. Yet again we are used to seeing a solo act with pedals and loopstations, but rarely if ever with the same degree of imagination.
Compounded by the art of innocent observation and spontaneous humour Pete's show and songs from his forthcoming second album display a maturity over his eclectic and critically acclaimed debut "one of these kids".

are all accurate interpretations of that magical CD, as Pete toured and traveled extensively in France, Germany, Spain, USA and even India after securing his own audiences in Ireland, largely due to his performances in 2001 on the WITNNESS RISING TOUR 2 and the festival itself that year.
In 2005 he started serious work on his new CD which shall have its first single "instinct" digitally released in august, and another single late autumn, with the eventual physical and digital release of the complete album early 2008. It shall contain songs of unconditional love, awareness, joy of humour, longing, bereavement and challenge.
Like his shows, Pete's new CD promises to be more than entertainment. it shall be another journey, of which one can only love.
