"Mitchell was first bewildered – and then irritated – to discover that, for a section of the TV audience, Alf was seen as championing rather than satirising the political positions he stupidly espoused."

Warren Mitchell: there was more to him than Cockney foghorn Chairman Alf

RIP, always enjoyed watching him.

Almost comically good at rugby

not very young in sporting terms.

but yes, its too soon. But its a discussion that needs to be had IMO, considering the problems that sport has at school's level.

A few of the things I read said that the disease struck his body at least as early as 20, which seems plenty young to me.
Talk to the kids all you want, but his disease had zero to do with steroids though, no?

You come here from your sport full of filthy cheats and you try and spread its dirt onto a good man killed by nature.
Have you no sense of decency, sir???

Have you no sense of decency, sir???

this depends on your perspective. By decency do you mean lets make sure we learn from mistakes of the past and protect our kids?

But you are correct, my perspective is coloured by the septic sport I follow.

But also, his sport is/was septic also.

20 is not young in sporting terms, FYI. In professional sporting terms, yes, but not in sporting terms.

I asked these same questions when Frederiek Nolf sadly passed away also.

But, y'know, it was ok to assume he was taking drugs cos cycling

Nephrotic syndrome is not caused by steroids though. Whatsoever.

That sport of yours has tinged your worldview with bitterness.
The cycling cheaters have tainted your honest soul. And perhaps, in the larger sense, that is their greatest crime of all.
