People of the Monolith
Atmospheric doom, melting into dark sludge
Originating in Cork in 2007, PotM has grown and changed in numerous ways since its inception. 2011 is no different. After re-evaluation of the past few months’ progress, the band has gone back to the drawing board. The fruit of these new sessions is already proving to be the most intense and real music the band has produced yet. They will use this night to debut some of the new repertoire.
Due to a shift in the ranks, the enigmatic Count Rodge (Wreck of the Hesperus) will be providing the sardonic pulse that will keep the People of the Monolith alive on this particular evening.

Absolutist
Sludge/hardcore power-trio from Aberdeen
Absolutist began in 2010 and hit the ground running with a slew of gigs in the UK. Not wanting to break stride, the lads will be kicking arse in Cork on their four-date “World Tour of Ireland.” Features that lad from Quietus Sect.

Twisted Mass
Crust metal bastards from Dublin
Over the past few months Twisted Mass has been making noise and breaking hearts all over the capital. Already garnering some excellent reviews for their live prowess, the band features members from groups as prominent and diverse as Abaddon Incarnate, On Pain of Death, Divisions Ruin, Droppin Bombs and Refraction.

Wizards of Firetop Mountain
ROCK!
Currently being hailed by everyone who has seen them as the best new band in Ireland. No, I haven’t heard a note and, yes, I did book them based on the hype. They’re also lovely people (namely folk from De Novissimis and Mongolia). I cannot wait.
