Wish I'd known. That 1976 LP is bloody fantastic. Almost better than any of the Planxty albums.
Saw footage of a 1976 gig in The Embankment pub, Tallaght on Come West Along The Road.

apparently it woulda been the 4th planxty album (if they hadn't broken up for a few years) so Brady & Irvine went ahead and recorded the tunes for their own album. That Embankment footage of Brady, Lunny & Irvine doing Mominsko Horo is electrifying!! :)

apparently they were tester gigs to see if the two of them were still into it, and if so they're planning on doing a proper tour. great gig alright, big up to my parents for getting us in.

High fives all round to Clan Damo for the heads up.

Indeed!.|..|
Fuckin class night, amazing. Cept the casio keyboard buzz... what was that all about? Killed as I roved out.
I've got the tunes stuck in my head now, alternating between west coast of clare and the streets of derry. The sadest ones boohoohoo.

Spin (OS)

22:00:00
New Series: Andy Irvine and Paul Brady: In the second episode of TG4's series 'Spin' presenter Philip King meets up with Paul Brady and Andy Irvine to chat about the making of one of the seminal Irish albums. Contributions from producer Donal Lunny and the delightful Eithne Ní Chatháin and the added bonus of Andy and Paul playing some of the songs off the album help bring home how this music is as fresh and relevant today as it was when it was first released back in 1976.
