Outsider music in Ireland? (2 Viewers)

That kind of stuff is amazingly popular once you leave dublin. Those midified accordions are appalling things. I dunno if thats one or not but i wouldn't be surprised if it was the accordion playing the percussion.

I've seen many the Country & Irish act that relies heavily on midi backing tracks. I think the genres a bit like Grime in that what sounds cheap initially just blends into the background and becomes part of the aesthetic.

Or it might just be that most Country & Irish performers and fans are tone deaf.

I remember doing work experience in a studio in Letterkenny years ago when they were using the same backing tracks for a bunch of different instruments, vocals, accordian and pan pipes were the three I remember, think there may have been sax too.

I think in most instances its songs the performers and all the audience are familiar with so they only need be reminded of it to enjoy it. Sorta like ringtones.

Ah the memories. I once wanted to be a sound engineer - two weeks in the studio with one of those midi-accordion / keyboard set-ups convinced me to try something else.
