I was there on opening night. It was a first come-first served Christy Moore gig and the queue was a mile long. We got there mad early and got in but it was so packed you couldn't enjoy it.

And wasn't Whelans the Wexford Inn at one point?

Rock Garden in Temple Bar had some good nights, saw Jacobs Mouse, Leatherface, Swervedriver there. Charlie's on Aungier St too, Mega City 4, Gorilla Biscuits , Manics played there on Sat afternoons back in 91. Anyone remember Sides Live at 3? Sat aftn, 3 bands for £3, saw Power of Dreams and A House in there. Therapy played an underground place on the quays near Tara St around the time of their first single but can't remember the name of the place.

Someone mentioned underground in Thomas Reads. Large Mound released Raised On Rock there. Fact: no merch stand at a free launch gig. Sooo dumb.

What about that bar on Townsend st (?) that Dougie too over as the Fusion Bar. Saw a few decent gigs in there downstairs during the "in Dublin" festival. Then the upstairs opened for gigs for a little while. saw Joan Of Arse's first gig there.
Then it became the new Barnstormers, or maybe it was the other way around.

Dunno if they played in the Stadium but they certainly did the SFX.
