The folk cross-country Americana-noir confederation that is the Willard Grant Conspiracy were formed in Boston in 1995 by singer Robert Fisher and guitarist Paul Austin who previously teamed in the noise-rock outfit the Flower Tamers.
“Ghost Republic” is the first album from Willard Grant Conspiracy since “Paper Covers Stone” (2009) and the first album of entirely new music since “Pilgrim Road” (2008) and was written and recorded in Massachusetts featuring the collaborative songwriting of Robert Fisher and David Michael Curry. " Ghost Republic" is a skeletally gothical album-- so elemental that it might well have been made among the Joshua trees and rattlesnakes of his home"- Andy Fyfe, Mojo, Sep 2013.
Robert Fisher moved back to his native California and has been living in the high desert since 2006. The ensuing years have seen numerous incarnations of the band and in it's current form, this tour will comprise of Robert and David Curry who is the band's principle viola player and a longtime foil for Fisher's evocative baritone.
