Nortons Internet Security vs Windows Firewall (1 Viewer)

I bought Norton Internet Security 2006, and ended up uninstalling it and using the Windows firewall instead - it was intermittently blocking my access to the server running on my own machine, which I need for work. Now relying on the Windows firewall, no trouble so far

Hey theweeyin, how is Norton more secure?

I don't trust software firewalls, and they're a pain in the ass to manage. It's a relatively trivial thing to set up an old pentium with 2 network cards as a firewall using shorewall, or just shell out the €400 for a sonicwall. As far as antivirus goes, symantec AV corporate edition (or mcafee corp. ed, whatever it's called) are both good, the consumer versions are too bloated.
