nlgbbbblth CD 12.18: Don't Make It Work. Our Failed Pop 1980 - 1987 (1 Viewer)

One of them married 'Ken' from Bros and died of cancer. Was she a porn star too? That was some CV

She was in top shelf magazines as opposed to porno.

A mate's big brother had a copy of one. It was mind-blowing at the time.

The other one married Ken.

And I feel bad about dirtying up nlgbbbblth's nice thread.

I'm sure someone must have posted this for Those Nervous Animals, (possibly me)....it's amazing....could easily have ended up on the soundtrack to Donnie Darko...(as a measure of how great an 80s tune it is).....anyway:

Bit later than 87. Some nice twee guitar pop

I prefer five o'clock train, but can't find it.

CANVAS OF LIFE by Minor Detail is a truly horrible song... got heavy rotation on Radio Nova at the time... and one of those bastards discovered the Corrs...

Some minor details:

Ray Shulman from Gentle Giant played (and produced?) on that Minor Detail album. PLUS I know the guy that drummed on it. Don't think Ralf Hutter is doing the vocoder vocals though

I remember seeing these girls about town in ridiculous furry hats

but the song is what they call 'perfect pop' , should have been a bigger hit

I found the forget me nots five o'clock train. Tis a minor masterpiece of cuddy guitar pop. Compliments to the guitarist. There's some really nice subtle guitar parts that really work and enhance the song. :)

I saw them in the rock garden, must have been 1993 or 94.

This would have made a great single... it was on the Weird Weird World Of Guru Weirdbrain LP on Hotwire records... with the Golden Horde, Real Wild West etc...
