Know a lot of people round here don't like them, but I do...a lot...

Just getting through my first listen....
as i expected, there is nothing ground-breaking about it, but its still got some pretty deadly stuff...of course, there is that whole "haven't they done that bit before" thing but I'm enjoying it.

i really don't know what I'm trying to say.....updates to follow

I like explosions a lot. They sound very similar all the time, but they do write some fantastic tunes..

Not sure about the new album though, First two tracks are incredible but the rest is a bit wishy washy.

have seen them three times in smallish venues, and was blown away every time
costellos - limerick (02)
lobby - cork (03)
high stool - limerick (03)
The high stool gig will always be in my top 5 Limerick gigs...

Ahh i missed that High Stool gig cuz i was workin that nite.

New album is really good i think but as was said already its nothing vastly new from them. Got the new Do Make Say Think as well on friday and that's brilliant, a bit more fresh and exciting than the explosions album.

Yeah the lobby and high stool gigs were amazing....
I like the new album, but it's not as good as the others.
People get very irate about this band for some reason.

I saw them in The Hub a few years back and knew nothing about them except for the fact that they had been dubbed 'Godspeed You Sigur Mogwais' by some of the lads but was blown away by them. The Earth Is Not a Cold Dead Place is probably my favourite Post Rock album of all time.

Does anyone have the soundtrack they did for Friday Night Lights?? Is it worth buying???
