"Variations on a theme by chopin: relations between perception and production of timing in music"

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/entrez/query.fcgi?cmd=Retrieve&db=PubMed&list_uids=9627417&dopt=Citation

from a search in this - http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/entrez/query.fcgi?CMD=search&DB=pubmed

that article is from the Journal of Experimental Psychology: Human Perception and Performance - http://www.apa.org/journals/xhp/

the Journal of New Music Research may also have something. http://www.ingentaconnect.com/content/09298215

seems to have interesting articles such as " The Role of Personality in Emotional Responses to Music: Verbal, Electrocortical and Cardiovascular Measures " http://www.ingentaconnect.com/content/routledg/jnmr/2004/00000033/00000004/art00005

etc.

hope that is a start. i know nothing about music and music theory

Can anyone point me in the direction of some essays or studies on how music can affect someones perception of time?

What specifically are you looking to prove/disprove/research? do you mean in terms of psychology, psychoacoustics, music theory; or in relation to altered states; anything particular or just checking out the subject in general?

Here's a couple you may not be able to access them though, pm me if needed.

Basically one normal year = three bands years.

For example, 'our album will be out next year' means that the album will actually be released in three year's time.
