MOCK & TOOF

Mock & Toof have firmly established themselves as a name to watch in 2007. So far this year the London based producers have been responsible for the mighty ‘Black Jub’ single on Tiny Sticks, the ‘Digits’ re-edit 12” for NYC’s Rvng Intl and ‘Zomby’ for Japan’s Mule Musiq. Not to mention a selection of killer remixes for the likes of The Scissor Sisters, Maps, Gomma, Rebirth & Supersoul.

They initially drew attention last year with their remixes of The Juan Maclean & Hot Chip for DFA Records, plus an inspired re-edit of Madonna’s ‘Like A Virgin’ (entitled ‘Lycra Virgin’).

A 12” single for DFA’s new ‘Death From Abroad’ imprint is due for release in late summer, plus further singles for Tiny Sticks & Mule Musiq.

Mock is also the founder of the fledgling Tiny Sticks record label. Since it’s inception in 2005 the label has worked with a breadth of artists including Dondolo, Michoacan, Toby Tobias, Turner, Shit Robot, Hot Chip, The Emperor Machine, Escort, Brennan Green, Lawrence, Darshan Jesrani from Metro Area and many more.

YOUR ONLY MASSIVE

YoureOnlyMassive is Maebh Cheasty, and DJ Megadrive. They live down the road from each other in Waterford. YoureOnlyMassive is electronic music, riot grrrl and hip-hop and that sudden sense of excitement you only get in summertime. Megadrive lays down beats and Maebh rhymes on top. Megan sometimes sings too and Maebh sometimes hula hoops. They try their hardest to get you to dance with them. Maebh is also currently preparing a show for the Dublin Fringe Festival.

JENNY & THE DEADITES

Jenny and the Deadites formed from the ashes and effluent of various projects, but quickly became an end in itself…rhymes and non rhymes over heavy electronics…words vicious and twisted over slabs of boom and echo…as meaningful and meaningless as throwing a cat onto a bonfire…pretty and macabre, like a necklace of human teeth…

"Not a Sam Raimi tribute band, although their skewed take on hip-hop is
almost as twisted as one of his early films. MC Jenny Branagan declaims
her dark, brooding poetry over beats lap topped up by Ian McDonnell and
Dara Smith, combining into a minimalist hip-hop that might not exactly
cheer you up, but will at least make you nod your head as it fucks with
it." Paul Lazybird (September 2006)

A little bit of noise, a little bit of light and a whole lot of death…
