going to iceland tommorow.|..|, o2 say they dont have coverage there, but i can i just manually select some local network there and be able to text? two groups of us staying in different hotels so it would be great to be able to text.

If O2 don't have a roaming agreement there, then you won't be able to get on any network. But it seems strange to me that they wouldn't have. Are you prepaid? It's possible that you can't roam as a prepaid subscriber there, in which case you won't be able to select any network.
