MIDI USB Port (1 Viewer)

you could ask in peats (parnell street) or Maplin (jervis street). They're quite helpful when it comes to computery / electronicky stuff. Otherwise mail order from the interweb...

There's a place either on Clarendon Street or on South William Street - I always confuse them - which does a fair bit of "high-tech" music gear. I reckon you'd have a good chance of getting a USB MIDI port there.

Buying this type of stuff abroad is usually cheaper though. The shops here like to wallop on a chunky mark-up for themselves. Still, you get the after sales service (in theory).

Swangs and rindy bites, I guess.

Cheers lads, I'll check these out!

howdo alex.

first of all, peats or maplin won't have anything like this. trust me.

you can try waltons and music maker etc, they'll have them, but at a price.

if you have a credit card then www.thomann.de is seriously your only man.

happy shopping!

done

and peats will have something similar, in the shape of a Creative Labs Extigy , a USB external sound card dobbily digital decoding midi thing - but it's expensive at around €250

Hi Lads,

I just got one of those MIDI cables you can plug into the Sound Blaster game port but I couldn't get the bloody thing working!

Any suggestions?

OS is Win 98, software is Cakewalk

Thanks a lot! A.
