Manu thread? (1 Viewer)

That's what happened to liverpool. Once the, ahem, Lesser Teams realised they could get a result at anfield (back in Souness' day) the aura was gone. How many newly promoted teams have won at anfield in recent years? Or at least gotten a result. Cos they know they can. Mick McCarthy did it a few years ago when he put out the stiffs at old trafford cos he knew they weren't going to win and needed his main boys fit for a relegation hoo ha. I doubt the manager of any bottom ten team has told his boys that they can get at united, or that they need to, unless it's absolutely necessary. West ham did it to avoid relegation. Otherwise the aura is there. And they say winning is a habit. United don't do losing. have they dropped points in 3-4 consecutive games in recent history?

So, if they start to lose, will they realise the feet of clay? After all, the fearsome reputation was built on much better players than this lot. And Fergie has always had wingers, proper wide men with pace, who's job is to fling the ball into the box. Pretty simple, really.

Thought this was the most appropriate thread for a swipe at Keano. He very publicly whored himself out as being interested in the Forest job, sounds like they didn't even consider him which is pretty embarrassing. Is it the end of the line for him as a manager? I get the impression he's champing at the bit for another stab at it, but his time at Ipswich seems to have diminished his reputation. Kinda feel sorry for the guy in a way cause he just loves the game and wants to be involved on a daily basis. His best bet might be a stint in the lower tiers or perhaps Scotland for a couple of years.

word on the street is that he didn't get the job because he's a thundering cunt.
