seems odd for a show presented as 'gritty' or 'real' or whatever. no reason to suspect they won't do a deus ex machina at the end.
i've never been great at suspension of disbelief anyway, but i'm driven to distraction with all the 'sorry lads' moments.
It's just not very well written. It needs a script doctor, someone to school them in basic story telling again. The rave/drugged/pass out scene took up plenty of screen time and advanced the story close to zero. All that could have been told in 10 seconds. I am no screen writer but it seems obvious there is loads of chaff that could be removed. That's a bit of a separate point to the "sorry lads" one but they're related. Whole thing could be top notch with just a bit more thought and tweaking.
